Clinics & Services

Nurse Clinics

pregnant_bpOur practice nurses are specially trained to provide nursing care to patients in our practice.

You can consult with them directly (you do not have to see the doctor first) during Open Surgery (morning) and by appointments (afternoon).

Our nurses offer a wide range of services such as

  • wound care
  • ulcer dressing
  • ear syringing
  • blood tests (where we are able to book the first five every morning)
  • blood pressure checks
  • dressings and removal of stitches
  • travel advice - Need to book a double appointment with the nurse
  • and other clinical care.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we have our practice Health Care Assistant here to take blood, carry out new patient health checks, and attend to dressings.

Services we offer

Minor Surgery

Our minor surgery clinic is held on a monthly basis. This is run by Dr Rohit Kotnis.

Child Health Clinic

Fridays 2:30pm – 3:30pm

(For Healthy Babies and Under Fives)

A doctor will give immunisations to the under fives.

Maternity Services

pregnant7We have a midwife here on Friday morning between 9:00am and 1:00pm.

She provides antenatal care during your pregnancy.

Family Planning

All our doctors and our practice nurses are trained to give advice, and offer a full range of services including emergency contraception, or you can attend the Family Planning Clinic at Raglan House, Between Towns Road. You may also call the clinic on 01865 456666.

Heart Checks and Diabetic Checks

Patients are contacted to attend for a blood test and have a follow up appointment with the practice nurse to discuss their results and receive advice on prevention of heart disease through diet and exercise and medication.

Asthma Checks

Patients are contacted and invited to attend consultations with our practice nurse to monitor both their condition and medication.

Travel Service

The practice nurse can provide advice and vaccinations appropriate for your travel abroad. We recommend that you see her at least a month before you travel to ensure completion of the full course of recommended vaccines. Each traveller needs their own individual appointment.  Please ensure that you mention you require travel service when booking your appointment as a double appointment needs to be booked.

You will also be advised as to the cost of vaccinations as some of these are not covered under NHS services.

Our practice nurse will advise you about any immunisations you should have to keep up to date.

We encourage patients with chronic medical conditions or over sixty-five years old to have a flu vaccination annually. These clinics are held between September and February.

Lifestyle advice

Our practice nurse offers a wide range of advice and support to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle e.g. stopping smoking, exercise, menopause and dietary advice.
